We specialize in year-end financial statement preparation (Notice to Reader and Review), tax compliance, business consulting, and more complex tax matters. Here, you’ll work directly with local business owners, providing them with insights that go beyond numbers, supporting their long-term success.
Your Role:
As a Staff Accountant/CPA Student at Winston and Company, you will be instrumental in helping our clients manage risk and identify new opportunities. Working closely with local businesses, you will help them grow and succeed while expanding your knowledge across a broad range of tax and accounting topics.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing Notice to Reader and Review Engagement financial statements.
- Preparing and reviewing working papers for personal, corporate, and trust tax returns.
- Assisting with bookkeeping duties, including investment account reconciliations.
- Building strong relationships with clients and proactively addressing their needs.
- Providing updates to staff and management, ensuring progress on files is communicated effectively.

What We’re Looking For:
- A Bachelor of Commerce degree, preferably with a focus in accounting.
- 2+ years of public practice experience (preferred).
- CPA designation (an asset, but not required).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to maintain clear file progression updates.
- The ability to work well in teams and build strong client relationships.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills for handling multiple projects.
- Familiarity with CaseWare, CaseView, Jazz-It, Profile, QuickBooks, QBO, Sage, and strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- A self-driven professional eager to broaden their knowledge and contribute to the firm’s growth.
